Description

Dimensions (H/W) 15 x 9 cm

Printed stiff wrappers with cloth spine. Very good condition, with rounding of corners and wear at edges. [109]-216 pp. This is the second part of a two-part songster. The parts were sold separately. The back cover of this volume is an index of songs in this part only. This songster is somewhat unusual as it has the music for the songs, not just the lyrics that appear in most songsters of the period. The Star Spangled Banner is printed at page 144. This was published by Elias Howe, Jr. at No. 7 Cornhill in Boston, but we have been able to find no information to indicate that his was the same Elias Howe, Jr. who invented the sewing machine around this time.
