16.7×21.8 cm. Manuscript map in contemporary (?) frame of towns south of the Mohawk River near the current towns of Herkimer and Little Falls, New York. Outline color by town. North is to the left. The verso has a few random calculations. Four towns are laid out: German Flatts, Frankford (now Frankfort), Litchfield and Warren. Below the map the size, in miles, of each of the towns is indicated. The four towns here were all created in 1792 from the larger town of German Flatts which had been one of three original towns in Herkimer County in 1791. The name Warren is written on the verso and towards the bottom of the recto, suggesting that this was drawn up specifically to demonstrate the boundaries of the Town of Warren. The frame is old, likely 19th century, with what is almost certainly the original glass which has many air bubbles.
