Internally very good, with small areas of relatively heavy foxing. 334, 2 pp., uncolored frontispiece double-page map of New York State drawn by Mrs. B. C. Spafford and engraved by Peter Maverick. Published by H. C. Southwick. This was the first gazetteer of New York State. It provides excellent details on the many towns and other locations in New York State just before the Erie Canal was built, changing the nature of the state.
